Surgical Technician - Per Diem Days at Providence summary: Per-diem Surgical Technician position at Providence Little Company of Mary in Torrance, CA supporting operating room procedures under RN supervision. Requires completion of an accredited surgical tech program, national certification (NBSTSA), BLS, and ~9 months OR experience. Description Surgical Technician at Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance in Torrance, CA. This position is Per-Diem and will work 8-hour, Day shifts. The Surgical Technician role is a non-licensed health care employee who performs the surgical scrub role and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). These duties may include reviewing preference lists and picking the supplies and instruments for a procedure; performing a surgical scrub and preparing the back table with the appropriate sterile instrumentation and supplies; providing support intra-operatively by anticipating the surgeon's needs and passing him/her the appropriate instrumentation and supplies when needed during the case; completing the cycle by taking instruments and equipment to the decontamination area at the end of the procedure and putting away left over supplies and equipment. Required Qualifications: Upon hire: Successfully completed training as a surgical technician at an accredited school. Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association 9 months experience as a Surgical Technician in Operating Room.
