The Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) Engineering organization is a
multi-disciplinary technology team established to rapidly address
the needs of targeted government and international customers with
specific solutions that have the potential to scale. ALG
Engineering leads the development and delivery of targeted and
scalable solutions for custom space and terrestrial applications.
ALG collaborates closely with Amazon Leo to leverage the
constellation of advance satellites to provide seamless and
efficient communication capabilities to meet the needs of our
customers. The ALG Engineering team is seeking highly technical and
talented individuals who are passionate about creating unique
solutions that result in a positive impact on a global scale. The
Sr Satellite System engineer will engage with an experienced
cross-disciplinary team to design, integrate, and test innovative
product solutions. The Sr Satellite System Engineer will work
closely with colleagues throughout Amazon Leo’s inter-disciplinary
team and collaborate with key partners and suppliers in order to
ensure our system exceeds customer expectations. The Sr Satellite
System Engineer must be responsive, flexible, innovative, and able
to succeed within a collaborative, fast-paced, and dynamic
environment. As a member of the ALG Engineering Integrated Systems
Solutions organization, the Sr Satellite System engineer will be
responsible for all aspects of the requirements definition,
interface development, integration, test, verification, and
validation of one or more of the following: the satellite bus, RF
payloads, optical payloads, custom ground terminals, or custom user
terminals. This includes testing, analyzing, and optimizing the
particular satellite or ground element being developed, and
ensuring that it meets the needs of the specific customer and/or
target application. Verification efforts include functional and
performance testing through various environmental conditions as
required to ensure system integrity. The successful candidate will
have demonstrated experience leading large-scale programs with a
diverse set of talented individuals, as well as with partner
organizations (including government agencies). 10037 Key job
responsibilities • Working within a project team and taking
responsibility for a high bandwidth, low earth orbit communications
satellite constellation and terrestrial communication technologies
• Define requirements, develop interface control documents, and
perform requirements derivation and allocation analysis and
technical budgets with tools developed to drive designs, correlate
models with test data, and develop verification evidence. •
Deep-dives into component and subsystem designs to document
expectations, evaluate tests, remedy test failures, and provide
quick feedback to improve performance • Collaborating with diverse
technical teams such as software, mechanical, modem, and compliance
teams to validate expectations for system-level and network-level
operations, from concept through execution • Integrating the
end-to-end RF communications system. Meeting with customers
internally and externally to select components • Defining test
plans and procedures for lab and environmental chamber testing,
based on identified requirements for subsystems and for the overall
system • Defining test plans and procedures for on-orbit payload
verification or satellite testing, based on identified requirements
• Analyzing and mitigating potential self-interference and other
system interference issues • Configuring test equipment for
automated operation: satellite link emulator, spectrum analyzer,
signal generator, etc. • Meeting with suppliers to select enabling
lab technologies • Interpreting test results, troubleshooting
issues, performing root-cause analysis for any test failures •
Documenting test results, test coverage, and other key performance
indicators (KPI) metrics • Communicating status and issues
effectively with developers and managers • Shepherding payload
subsystems through test campaigns throughout the development
lifecycle, from concept to implementation to integration. • Analyze
test data and engage with others in Kuiper, customers, suppliers,
or partners to evaluate the product performance and provide
proactive feedback on potential improvements. Security Clearance :
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen
and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government
security clearance of TS/SCI. About the team Amazon Leo for
Government (ALG) Engineering is a multi-disciplinary technology
team established to rapidly address the needs of targeted customers
with specific solutions that have the potential to scale. These
solutions are tailored to meet the needs of government and
international customers for both space-based and terrestrial
applications. The Systems Engineering, Integration, Test, and
Manufacturing organization under ALG Engineering plays a vital role
in the entire life cycle of the development of an engineering
solution, including architecture development, requirements and
interface definition through assembly, integration, and test
(AI&T), verification, and post-delivery and operational
support. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree or above in
engineering, physics, or equivalent - 5 years of Space
Vehicle/Satellite Operations, Space Communications or related
industry experience - 5 years of integration, testing and
automation experience, or degree in advanced technology - 8 years
of verification in communication systems experience - 5 years of
hardware development, test lab, space/aerospace maintenance or
hands-on engineering environment experience - Knowledge of concepts
like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system
analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision
making - Experience working as a technical lead - Experience with
hardware/software integration and real-time systems - Knowledge of
the tools of the trade, including a variety of modern programming
languages (Rust, Java, C/C++), and a solid understanding of the
Linux operating system - Experience developing test strategies and
plans for complex hardware/software systems or systems of systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Master's degree or equivalent in
mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science,
physics or equivalent, or Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 5
years of professional or military experience - Experience producing
executive-level written materials and presenting to executive
audiences - Experience participating in or leading technical
collaborations and creating alignment across diverse groups (e.g.,
hardware engineering, software engineering, program management) -
Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, or
experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to
detail, and effective communication abilities - Experience in
embedded wireless systems, or experience designing or architecting
(design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing
systems - 1 years of working directly with government officials and

this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include
